On Thursday, Habertürk reported Fenerbahçe goalkeeper Altay Bayındır will undergo a second medical test before signing for Manchester United.
The 25-year-old was an unused substitute in his side’s Europa Conference League play-off win over FC Twente in Turkey on Thursday.
According to Cumhuriyet, the stopper is expected to complete a move to Manchester United ‘within 48 hours’.
It’s claimed the Red Devils are evaluating the reports after he underwent a medical in Greece on Tuesday. If they decide to go ahead with the deal, the website states it could be concluded within the next two days.
In his post-match press conference, Fenerbahçe manager İsmail Kartal admitted Bayındır is set to leave the club.
“I would like to thank Altay for his services. He started a new adventure, and I wish him all the best,” Kartal said, relayed by Milliyet.
Fenerbahçe’s Ferdi Kadıoğlu has also talked about his teammate’s impending farewell.
“Altay Bayındır is a very good goalkeeper. I wish him good luck. He is also a very good character. I hope he will be very successful there,” Milliyet quoted Kadıoğlu as saying.
Manchester United signed André Onana earlier this summer, and Bayındır is expected to provide cover and competition to the Cameroonian at Old Trafford.
