Montpellier goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte is ‘on his way’ to Fulham.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, and they cover the 34-year-old’s imminent move from the French club to Fulham.

Lecomte’s contract lasts until 2027 and he’s currently one of the top earners at the club.

Montpellier were relegated from Ligue 1 and are therefore keen on getting rid of the stopper in this window.

Foot Mercato report he will move to Fulham to become the second-choice goalkeeper for Marco Silva, behind Bernd Leno. They add the Premier League club will pay a few hundred thousand euros to secure his services.

French journalist Bertrand Queneutte took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report on Lecomte’s impending move to Fulham.

He claims the Frenchman is expected in London today to complete a move to the Premier League club. Queneutte also claims Lecomte will be Leno’s backup at Fulham, and €500,000 will be going to Montpellier.

The goalkeeper returned to the French club from AS Monaco in January 2023 and has been their No.1 since then. He played 82 games in his second spell and will have to settle for a backup role at Fulham.
