Leicester City midfielder Vicente Iborra gave an interview to El Partidazo de Cope this week, during which he mentioned his former teammate and Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico will leave Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán and make a switch to the Premier League.
The 24-year-old had already expressed his desire to leave his current employer in the transfer window. Earlier in the window, he was linked with a move to Chelsea as a replacement for Thibaut Courtois, who joined Real Madrid.
Slaviša Jokanovic’s side will take Rico on a season-long loan deal and they will not have an option of signing the Sevilla custodian on a permanent deal. Fulham are exchanging documents with his agent and the technical secretary of Sevilla to facilitate the keeper’s move to England on deadline day.
Rico will compete with another summer signing, Fabri, for a place in the starting XI.
