RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has admitted the door to the Premier League and Arsenal remains open for him, even if he decided to ignore the option this summer.
The forward has been speaking to Sport BILD about his situation and the numerous rumours around him, including those linking him with Arsenal.
Sesko is considered one of the young rising stars in European football after an impressive year with Leipzig last season that saw him score 18 goals and register two assists in 42 games in all competitions.
That’s led to increased speculation about his future, with Arsenal and AC Milan both heavily linked with moves for him this summer.
They both want to improve their forward lines and were believed to be readying big offers for the striker before he put an end to the matter by signing a new contract with RB Leipzig until 2029.
They’ve sold various players via that strategy down the years and Sesko is likely to be another in future, and he’s open to the Premier League if he does.
“There was a lot of talk and there was also movement,” he said.
“But in the end, we found a good solution. It will do me good to continue to mature in Leipzig. It would not have been smart to leave after just one year. I want to continue to gain experience at a very high level at RB Leipzig, and where I want to go, I will need a lot of experience.
“Everyone is different, it also depends on how you were brought up. I’ve never been aloof; I still know how hard I had to fight for this. On the other hand, it’s also nice to see that your performances get you talked about. Because it shows that you’re on the right path.”
When asked specifically about Arsenal wanting him, Sesko said: “Every player I know watches Premier League games. In the end, we have to see when I’m ready for something.”
