On August 26th, De Telegraaf reported Manchester United returned to Ajax with an improved proposal of €90m to sign Antony.
It was also explained the message from the Eredivisie winners is that the winger is ‘not for sale’.
Manchester United continue to insist on the 22-year-old and are considering paying up to €100m for him.
That’s according to UOL, who explained the Premier League side are discussing internally the possibility to make an improved bid of €100m.
Although Ajax don’t want to sell him, Erik ten Hag’s side are ‘not going to give up easily’, especially because the Brazil international is putting strong pressure on his club.
Another Brazilian outlet, Portal R7, says the player has showed a ‘strong personality, rebellion’, from his time at São Paulo’s academy. Ajax’s decision to not accept Manchester United’s latest offer has not put off the attacker.
Antony remains firm with his desire to leave the Dutch champions and will not change his stance. The South American will continue to openly tell journalists he wants out, even though his stance is ‘shocking the European press’.
It’s claimed the wideman ‘demands his exit immediately’ so that he can join Manchester United, where his former manager is keen to have him at his disposal again. Portal R7 add Antony ‘promises to fight until the last moment to leave’.
Should Ajax end up selling Antony to Manchester United for €100m, he will be the third most expensive Brazilian, after Neymar and Philippe Coutinho.
