Real Madrid star Rodrygo has continued his public flirtation with Manchester City, insisting they are the best team in the world at this moment in time.
That’s according to Marca, who cover comments from the Brazilian in a recent appearance in GQ Hype before the Champions League final clash with Borussia Dortmund.
The forward has found himself linked with a move to Manchester City over the last week or so after insisting he would be open to leaving Real Madrid and move to the Premier League, if he finds he is not as important for the Spanish giants moving forward.
Manchester City have been pushed to the front of the queue since then, with them named as suitors and various journalists insisting that there is no smoke without fire.
It was then explained earlier today that Rodrygo may be using the Manchester City links to his advantage, perhaps using them to send something of a warning to Real Madrid as they gear up to welcome Endrick and potentially Kylian Mbappe to the club this summer.
He’s now continued his public flirtation with Manchester City to GQ, insisting he sees Pep Guardiola’s side as the best team in the world.
“To be honest, we knew they were better,” he said regarding the clash in the Champions League quarterfinals.
“For me they are the best team in the world, the one that plays the best football. I think the most difficult rival has already left, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy now to win the final.
“With Bayern it was very difficult and with Borussia it will be very difficult too.”
