Aston Villa forward Anwar El Ghazi is ‘about to continue his career at Everton’ with a move close to completion.
That’s according to De Telegraaf, who report that the Dutchman has passed his medical examinations with the Toffees and will be finalising a loan move to Goodison Park shortly.
They state that El Ghazi is awaiting for the ‘final formalities to be completed’, which will see him spend the rest of the season on loan on Merseyside.
The deal will run until the summer, but an option to buy is ‘still being discussed’ by Everton and Aston Villa at this moment in time. It is presumably that which are the final formalities holding things up.
The nature of the loan deal isn’t mentioned, nor is the proposed purchase option, just that a deal is now close to being finalised for the player.
It had been reported that Everton boss Rafa Benitez was keen to sign another right-winger this month, and it appears he has now got his man in El Ghazi.
El Ghazi will simply be hoping he is given more of a chance to impress at Everton than he’s had at Aston Villa this season, where he’s only managed four starts and 383 minutes of football in the Premier League.
