With Antonio Conte making it clear he isn’t that impressed with Tanguy Ndombélé, there has been a lot of gossip about the Frenchman potentially leaving in January.

In fact, the situation has reached a point where José Mourinho has already called him directly to see if he would be interested in a move to AS Roma, which came after the player was offered to the Serie A club.

That last bit is information from Corriere dello Sport, who explain that while intermediaries have indeed reached out to try and move the former Lyon star to Rome, the whole operation would be ‘difficult’.

This is because he is on high wages of about €10m, €5m of which would need to be taken on by the Serie A club.

It’s also easier for the Italians to get a deal sorted for Boubacar Kamara, although whether he will leave in January remains to be seen.

AS Roma aren’t the only club in Italy being offered Ndombélé, either, as Napoli are also on the list of potential destinations, as stated by Calciomercato.

The website explain the France international ‘doesn’t enter in Conte’s plans’ and ‘can leave’ Tottenham in the January transfer window.

Napoli, down their end, have ‘memorised the opportunity without advancing the talks’, once again because of the wages, described to be ‘out of reach’ for Luciano Spalletti’s club.

Hard work is going to be needed if Ndombélé is to leave Spurs and head to Italy, it seems, and perhaps some sacrifices are going to be needed.
