Manchester United are considering signing Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat again, according to a report from Italy.
The midfielder was on loan at Manchester United last season, clocking in over 1,500 minutes from 30 games. The Red Devils have decided not to exercise the purchase option.
On July 6th, Corriere dello Sport said the 27-year-old dreams of returning to Manchester United this summer. At the weekend, Gazzetta dello Sport reported there’s a possibility the two clubs can agree a deal at a lower price.
A fresh report from FirenzeViola.it talks about another formula to possibly take Amrabat to Old Trafford.
It’s pointed out Erik ten Hag’s side haven’t exercised the €20m purchase option before Sunday’s deadline. He has no future at the Serie A side and the two parties intend to part ways ‘as soon as possible’.
Therefore, it’s ‘not ruled out’ for him to return to Manchester United on a new loan deal with an inclusion of an obligation to buy, if ‘conditions are met’.
The Italian club could be open to this formula even though they wanted to sell Amrabat in this window.
La Nazione state Manchester United continue to follow Amrabat ‘with determination’, and are working on two different tracks to sign him.
The first option is to buy him for a ‘retracted’ amount of €13m this summer. The second one is to sign the player on loan with a purchase obligation. Either way, it should be a reasonable deal for Erik ten Hag’s side.
