Recent reports from Turkey have repeatedly insisted Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Galatasaray’s Victor Nelsson.
Erden Timur, the Turkish club’s vice-president has already made a few trips to London to hold talks with the Premier League side.
The centre-back is ‘determined’ not to leave Istanbul and wants to move to the north London club in this window.
That’s according to Hürriyet, who state the 24-year-old has asked club officials to accept Tottenham’s offer.
Although Spurs haven’t matched Galatasaray €25m demand, the report states the latter are insisting this fee be paid to let go of him.
They have accepted defeat in retaining the Denmark international and have identified Tottenham’s Davinson Sánchez as a target to replace him.
The Colombian has a year left on his deal and the report states Ange Postecoglou’s side value him at €12m, which is €4m more than what Galatasaray have allocated to buy the Dane’s successor.
Hürriyet add Okan Buruk’s side are negotiating with Spurs to sell Nelsson for €25m and buy Sánchez for €8m, and whether Tottenham will accept these conditions remains to be seen.
The report indicates Galatasaray are treating this as two different operations rather than a swap deal involving the two players. If a deal for the South American doesn’t materialise, they will look at other options to replace Nelsson.
