Yesterday, it was confirmed Napoli’s Manolo Gabbiadini is set to sign for Southampton ahead of the transfer deadline tonight. On Tuesday, Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have published detailed information on the transfer of the Italian forward to Southampton.
Gazzetta say Southampton offered €17m plus €3m in bonuses, and 10% of any possible future transfer fee.
Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, director of sport, Cristiano Guintoli, Gabbiadini’s agent, Silvio Pagliari, and Southampton representatives met in Milan yesterday to seal the transfer.
Gazzetta say Gabbiadini arrived in Hampshire last night, and is expected to undergo medical examinations this morning.
Southampton would be delighted to finally get the transfer over the line, after being linked with the Italian for more than a month. The 25-year-old has 5 goals to his name this season, but hasn’t been playing regularly for Napoli.
The player’s agent confirmed the move on Monday and the Italian press are underlining that everything is fine to complete the move.
