Joselu will be signing for Spanish club Alaves shortly, according to claims coming from the country on Thursday.
Mundo Deportivo reports it’s a ‘matter of time’ before the deal is done, and they say the 29 year old is set to ‘flee’ after failing to get enough opportunities under manager Rafael Benitez.
AS back that up by reporting Joselu has ‘almost completed’ his move to Alaves, but neither of the Spanish sources say anything about the structure of a deal or how much Newcastle United will be getting.
The 29 year old has a further year on his contract with the Premier League club, so it would need to be a permanent transfer, likely at a relatively low price.
Last season he made 20 appearances in total, with 16 of those coming in the league. However, 11 of those were as a substitute.
In a total of 968 minutes, the striker found the back of the net three times.
