Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has agreed to ‘reduce’ his wages to secure a move to Napoli this summer, with Spurs ‘pushing’ to get a deal that suits them.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who provide their stance on the developing transfer as the two clubs work on a deal.
Various reports today have provided updates on Napoli’s interest in the midfield, with it first explained that Daniel Levy has insisted any loan deal for the midfielder include a purchase obligation.
That was followed by the player’s entourage confirming talks are underway to get the Argentine out of London this summer.
That was then proceeded by an explanation that Tottenham had actually ruled out a loan move and Levy was instead looking for a €20m deal.
That was being worked on, according to the report, and TMW say the same, reporting that Lo Celso is Napoli’s ‘top target’ to enforce their midfield this summer.
TMW’s information is that the player has ‘already given his willingness’ to reduce his wages from his current his current €4m net wage in order to join Napoli.
It is the formula of the transfer which needs to be worked out, as Napoli want a loan with a right to buy included while Tottenham are pushing for an outright transfer or a loan with an obligation to buy included.
That is the difference between the two sides at this moment in time, with Spurs’ insistence they get the deal they want holding things up despite Lo Celso being keen and willing to sacrifice to get the move.
