Galatasaray have been chasing Rangers’ Rıdvan Yılmaz for most of the January window, and are waiting for approval from Philippe Clement’s side to take him away from Ibrox.
On Friday, Fotomaç reported Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has convinced the left-back after the pair had a telephone conversation. It was also stated he wants to leave on loan and has requested Rangers exclude a purchase option.
Philippe Clement’s side could accept the 22-year-old’s wish if the latest report from Sabah is to be believed.
The Turkey international ‘has agreed’ to play for the Istanbul club, in order to improve his chances of representing his country at the Euros next summer.
Galatasaray have made significant progress in their efforts to sign the Rangers player, after they made a loan offer to Philippe Clement’s side.
It’s explained that Rangers have ‘responded positively’, while there are minor details that need sorting out. In this way, Galatasaray are ‘finalising the transfer’ of the fullback.
Sabah make it clear that there will be no purchase option included as part of the deal.
This seems to be a surprising development, considering Philippe Clement had earlier said Rangers would need a convincing proposal to sanction a deal for Yılmaz.
It remains to be seen if Sabah’s claim will be backed up by other Turkish outlets and in Scotland.
