Odds BK’s Leopold Wahlstedt has insisted he doesn’t want to comment on links to Liverpool and Manchester United despite both clubs reportedly eyeing his signature.

The 23-year-old has been speaking to Fotboll Skanalen about his career so far and what might happen in future as his contract with the Swedish side comes to an end in December this year.

The youngster has been earning a growing reputation in Sweden, with four clean sheets in four appearances in the Eliteserien this season and seven in thirty last year.

He’s also made his debut for Sweden, playing all 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Finland in January of this year.

That has apparently earned him plenty of interest, with Liverpool and Manchester United both named as suitors in recent reports.

Indeed, Wahlstedt was asked directly about interest from Liverpool last month, fuelling speculation by refusing to deny their interest outright.

He’s now been asked about the reports regarding the Reds and Manchester United, but insisted he won’t be speaking about the speculation.

“It’s fun when it’s written positively about clubs seeing what you’re doing, then you’ve done something good,” he said.

“They are absolutely big clubs. But I don’t want to comment on any specific club’s interest or anything like that at the moment.

“As you say, my contract expires at the end of the year. I guess we’ve had contract discussions for about a year now but haven’t agreed on anything new yet. Right now, I just carry on as I have done before, and the rest will take care of itself.

“I have a good dialogue with my agent. I would like to know when the interest is quite concrete. But you don’t need to know all the clubs that are interested or that watch the matches. Last year there were many clubs, but I think I managed it quite well actually.”
