On Monday, Salzburger Nachrichten explaned Red Bull Salzburg star Maximilian Wöber will move to Leeds United in January and insisted an agreement will be reached between the two clubs for the transfer.
It was also stated the Austria international has held talks with Jesse Marsch over a potential switch to the Premier League side.
APA now claim the 24-year-old is ‘about to be transferred’ to Leeds United in the winter market. The transfer fee should be around €20m and this includes potential bonus payments.
The defender’s impending move to the English club for €20m should make him the fifth most expensive Austrian ever.
It’s further explained Wöber made a trip to England on Monday for a ‘final medical check-up’ with Marsch’s side, although other reports stated he’d travelled earlier.
On Wednesday, the Austrian champions will conduct their first training session after the winter break. According to Kronen Zeitung, Wöber should no longer be part of the group tomorrow because he is about to be transferred to Leeds.
Operating as a left-back and in the heart of the defence this season, Wöber has managed two goals and six assists from 21 matches in all competitions.
