Following a €25m move from Genoa, Radu Dragusin seems well protected by Tottenham Hotspur with a contract until 2030.
His agent, however, continues to talk about the deal and what could have been had the defender not been intent on going to Spurs.
The latest quotes are relayed by Tutto Juve, as Florin Manea was interviewed by Radio CRC. This time, he spoke a lot about Napoli and their attempt to sign Dragusin.
Manea said: “De Laurentiis was ready to close the deal, he was there with the offer, they were almost equal with the others, but it wasn’t a question of money. If it had been, he would have gone to Bayern, who made the bigger offer. Dragusin felt this was the way to go and decided to go to Tottenham.”
The agent explained that had there not been any offers from clubs outside of Serie A, then perhaps a transfer within the league would have been possible, with Napoli top of his own preference list.
He added: “Mr De Laurentiis left a good impression on me, he was very kind. Maradona is my idol and Napoli is in my heart. I hope to do a deal with Napoli in the future. It wasn’t a bad offer from Napoli, it’s a pity it turned out this way, I’m a bit of a Napoli fan.”
Manea has been generating so many stories that it wouldn’t be a surprise if Tottenham and Dragusin are disappointed with his attitude since the talks for his transfer begun.
The centre-back still has a long way before proving himself at Spurs, so all this talk about the transfer and what could have been probably isn’t the wisest move.
