France’s RMC report City Football Group have been trying everything they can to convince Patrick Vieira to reject approaches from Nice and other clubs in Europe and remain in charge of New York City FC.
The idea, claim RMC, is that Vieira is seen as a long term project by City Football Group and a strong possibility to take over from Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
Guardiola last week signed an extension at City which takes him to 2021, should he fulfil that entirety of the contract then Vieira would be looking at a three year wait.
Then there’s always the option of the Catalan renewing again.
At the age of 41 and with some experience now behind him, Vieira is edging towards the Nice job, and it’s explained there’s pessimism at City Football Group about being able to keep him.
Nice have held talks with Vieira and it’s even stated that an announcement could be made by Nice on Thursday or Friday.
