Boca Juniors’ Kevin Zenón isn’t pleased with the lack of concrete efforts from Newcastle United to sign him, according to Infobae.

The Magpies are one of the clubs to be regularly named as an interested party.

In October, Pasión Fútbol stated Newcastle were in the picture to sign him in the winter market. A month later, the same outlet reported Eddie Howe’s side won’t hesitate to come looking for the 23-year-old.

On December 9th, L’Interista explained Newcastle were in pole position to secure his services. Last month, Epoca said the Premier League club’s growing interest in Zenón had become a concern for Boca supporters.

Newcastle didn’t sign the Argentina U23 international in the recently concluded window, and this hasn’t pleased him.

Zenón arrived at the Argentine club from Unión Santa Fe in January 2024 and impressed at Boca Juniors under Diego Martínez. Last September, the manager left the club, and they appointed Fernando Gago as his successor in October.

He hasn’t been performing at the same [high] level since last summer’s Olympics. Infobae state his performances dropped since then and the player’s ‘personal annoyance’ also stemmed from ‘unsuccessful offers’ from Newcastle and a top Bundesliga club.

FC Porto made a formal offer of €12m, but this didn’t please Boca Juniors as they wanted €20m.
