West Ham United star Dimitri Payet has travelled to France to spend the weekend there, report French newspaper L’Equipe.
The East London club aren’t playing this weekend, and that has allowed their players to take some rest. Marseille have tabled a €30m offer with the Premier League side, but West Ham are reluctant to sell him at that price.
L’Equipe say Payet’s situation at West Ham hasn’t changed, as Marseille are taking their time to negotiate any possible deal. At the same time, the Ligue 1 club are keeping track of alternatives, but, of course, Payet is believed to be their priority.
It seems negotiations could possibly drag on till the transfer deadline day, but that could be risky for Marseille.
West Ham have already protected themselves by signing Robert Snodgrass, and definitely would want a deal for Payet on their own terms.
Yesterday, it was claimed a club outside England have also made an enquiry for Payet, but the identity of the club hasn’t been revealed.
