Over the course of the last summer transfer window, Tottenham were trying to offload some players, while clubs were interested in what they had to offer.
In fact, Fabio Paratici was so desperate to slim down the squad at Spurs that he went as far as speaking with Milan about four players.
That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, on his website Grand Hotel Calciomercato, where the Italian journalist goes back over a meeting between Tottenham and the Serie A side for Japhet Tanganga.
What happened in the summer has been widely reported on, with the Italians wanting to sign the Spurs defender, only for them to never reach an agreement and then go for Malick Thiaw.
They’re happy with that decision, but the article also states that during said meeting, there were three other players ‘put on the market table by Paratici’.
Those were Sergio Reguilón (who went to Atlético Madrid), Tanguy Ndombélé (Napoli) and Pape Matar Sarr (still at Tottenham).
In fact, Milan ‘decided to take some time to evaluate’ these options, but eventually went for Charles De Ketelaere, but still tried for Sarr.
He was the one they ‘liked the most’, but eventually decide to go for Aster Vranckx.
