Joao Palhinha has now left Tottenham after his loan, and the Spurs spell has helped his reputation.
In the 2025/26 campaign, the Portuguese attracted criticism at times for his weaknesses on the ball. However, he played a key role in the club’s battle against relegation, scoring the only goal in a huge win over Wolves and then scoring against Everton in the last game of the season.
This saw him leave the club on a high. Despite that, Tottenham didn’t attempt to sign him on a permanent basis, instead spending big on Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.
Now, Palhinha could be on his way to Italy, as he remains out of Bayern Munich’s plans.
Juventus and Milan interested

The outlet doesn’t expect him to be an important part of the Bayern side and feel he will leave in the summer.
Milan and Juve feel he will add a lot of steel to their midfield and his experience will come in handy for them.
The Rossoneri are particularly monitoring him, with Ruben Amorim at the helm and dictating possible signings.
Player should wait for options
The spell at Tottenham showed some of Palhinha’s weaknesses. He struggled in possession when helping his team build from the back but became a key asset during set-pieces.
Both Amorim and Luciano Spalletti usually prefer players who thrive in possession. This suggests the 30-year-old may not be a first-choice at either Milan or Juve.
As a result, he can wait to make a final decision. Sporting CP have been linked, and a return home may see him have a bigger role.
