Leeds United’s Mateusz Bogusz failed to convince Marcelo Bielsa last term and the Whites let him join UD Ibiza on a loan deal in the summer of 2021.

The midfielder’s stay there was cut short by a serious injury he suffered back in January.

UD Ibiza are back in the picture to take the 20-year-old away from Leeds. Earlier this month, Diario de Ibiza discussed the Spanish club’s hope to secure his services.

It was also said the Poland U21 international was spotted at their stadium for the club’s friendly tie.

The Segunda División side face Granada in the league clash on Sunday. In the pre-match press conference, UD Ibiza manager Javier Baraja said this about the lack of activities in the transfer window.

“In the end, the important thing is that tomorrow there will be eleven players from Ibiza and people who want to fight for this shirt,” Baraja said, as quoted by Diario de Ibiza.

The newspaper then states the coach ‘recognises the club’s interest’ in the Leeds player and Granada’s Isma Ruiz.

AS have also relayed comments made by Baraja. With regards to Bogusz, they say the manager said he is “one of the possibilities” for UD Ibiza, but didn’t reveal the progress of the negotiations with Jesse Marsch’s side.

The report then goes on to explain that the ‘negotiations are open’ with Leeds for the Pole.
