When Bruno Guimarães left Lyon for Newcastle United in January, lots of attention went to his friend Lucas Paquetá, who’d now stay without his friend at the French side.

The duo had formed a good partnership in Ligue 1, not only because the good results they had on the pitch, but also for the relationship they created at the club.

Now interviewed by RMC Sport, Paquetá talked about Bruno’s move to Newcastle, claiming the new Magpies player still stays in touch with his old teammates.

“Bruno is one of my great friends. We talk to each other every day, I can tell you that he is following us. There are still Brazilians in OL, we are good with everyone. We are at home here,” Paquetá told RMC Sport.

Bruno Guimarães left Lyon for Newcastle on a €42m move in the final days of the transfer window. This was one of the transfers set to mark the Magpies’ new era following the recent takeover at the club.

Paquetá, meanwhile, has also been linked to Premier League sides, and it would be no surprise to see him following Bruno to England, as even the St. James’ Park’s side were said to be interested this season.
