It’s been over two years since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last worked as a manager, not thought to be actively looking for such a role since his departure from Manchester United.
Still, he’s now linked to one of the most wanted jobs in European football, which is to take charge of Bayern Munich.
This information is brought by Sky Deutschland, who talk about the coaches who could replace Thomas Tuchel at the Bundesliga side.
While Bayern are said to be looking at Zinedine Zidane as one of the main options for next season, they also think of a caretaker manager for the coming months, and that’s where Solskjaer comes in.
It’s said club director Christoph Freund has this ‘surprising name in mind’, which is the Manchester United legend, although he’d be ‘more of an interim solution’.
According to the story, the Bayern chief knows Solskjaer very well and is now considering bringing him to replace Tuchel, at least for the rest of the season.
Not even the German coach’s departure is guaranteed, though, so that’s a situation which is still under analysis. Now, regardless of how that goes, it’d be quite interesting to see Solskjaer taking charge of such a big club so long after his Manchester United spell.
