Nottingham Forest invested around €42.5m to sign Dan Ndoye from Bologna in July.

The 24-year-old is currently with Switzerland for the international break and Wednesday’s edition of Blick carries an interview with him.

Ndoye discussed his move from Bologna to Nottingham Forest and his life so far in the Premier League. The Switzerland international impressed on his debut, scoring in the league victory over Brentford. That has been Nottingham Forest’s only win this season.

On September 9th, the Premier League club parted ways with Nuno Espírito Santo, the manager who helped them qualify for the Europa League.

Ange Postecoglou was appointed as Nuno’s successor the same day. He’s yet to register a win with Nottingham Forest from seven matches.

Ndoye is happy to have completed a move to the English club, even with the managerial uncertainty.

“It took me a while to understand how things work here,” he said.

“I had another change of manager, which wasn’t easy. But I’ve worked hard to perform well and adapt to this new team and this new league.

“I’m getting better and better, and I think you can see that. I feel comfortable. I want to continue like this, performing well for my club and the national team. I tell myself that every day.”

Ndoye spent two years at Bologna before joining Nottingham Forest. The attacker could have continued in Serie A as Napoli showed interest in him. However, he favoured a move to England.

“That’s why I’m in the Premier League”

The Swiss newspaper suggested Nottingham doesn’t have the ‘same charm’ as Bologna. Responding to this, Ndoye explained: “No, Nottingham isn’t Italy [laughs]. But hey, it’s a new culture that I’m discovering and that I like. Even if I don’t have much time to visit in the end because it’s not that easy with all the games we have. But I feel comfortable here.

“So no, it’s clear that there are two or three things that are changing. The house, the country, the language. Compared to the first month, I already feel much better. Now I have to keep working and get results.”

The winger has scored twice and registered an assist from nine games this season.

On his own ambitions, he added: “I’m a very ambitious person and aware of my qualities. Therefore, this development doesn’t surprise me. I’m someone who enjoys working and developing. That’s why I’m in the Premier League today. I’m still not satisfied; I want to go even further.”
