Tottenham Hotspur have joined Nottingham Forest in the chase for AS Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who say the 23-year-old has attracted interest from clubs in England and France.
Nottingham Forest and Tottenham are mentioned, along with Manchester City, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.
The winger recently changed agents and is now represented by HCM Sports Management, which has slowed down negotiations around his future.
PSG showed interest in January and could look at him again for the summer window but haven’t made progress. That’s because Monaco recently requested €80m and the price today is €60m, while their Ligue 1 counterparts don’t want to pay more than €50m.
At this point in time, Monaco haven’t received any offers for the Frenchman despite clubs in England looking at him.
Manchester City and Liverpool initiated contact, but didn’t make progress. The Citizens decided to look at other options and the English champions have ‘asked for patience’.
At this moment in time, Nottingham Forest are the only club willing to make ‘concrete progress’ to sign Akliouche. L’Equipe add Tottenham have joined Nuno Espírito Santo’s side and have just started discussions.
Monaco general manager Thiago Scuro told the French media on Monday that Akliouche could leave or stay for one more season. It’ll be interesting to see how this case develops.
