Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of Fluminense defender Nino today gets an update from the German media, because of reported interest from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that the defender has a ‘verbal agreement’ with the Tricky Trees for a winter transfer.
The problem is that as Fluminense demand US$6m for the move, the negotiations with Nottingham Forest are said to be ‘difficult’.
Good news for the Reds is that, despite previous reports from Germany claiming Eintracht Frankfurt had been interested in the player, that chase is now dismissed, as it’s said Nino ‘won’t join’ the Bundesliga side.
So it seems down to Nottingham Forest to pay that fee, and there are a couple of reasons why it’s actually strange to see them having difficulty affording that.
Firstly, because that’s a quite low amount for a player who’s just won the Copa Libertadores. Then because previous reports from Brazil said the Tricky Trees were ready to pay that figure, as the amount represents his release clause.
The Brazilian media, who are covering Fluminense’s campaign in the Club World Cup, have been quiet about this story, which is only expected to develop once the club return to South America.
