Nottingham Forest have emerged as an option for Arsenal’s Marquinhos, according to a report.
The 20-year-old arrived at the Emirates from São Paulo last summer and ended up making six appearances for the Gunners last season. Lack of regular game time saw Mikel Arteta’s side send him on loan to Norwich City in January.
TuttoMercatoWeb now state the Arsenal player has an opportunity to join either FC Nantes or Nottingham Forest.
Apart from Nantes and the Tricky Trees, a few unnamed Serie A sides have also looked at the Brazilian. However, the report states his non-EU status has blocked any possibility of his arrival in Italy.
As it stands, the winger currently has two ‘concrete paths’ to leave Arsenal. It’s to either join the Ligue 1 side on a dry and expensive loan deal or make a switch to Nottingham Forest through a ‘definitive transfer’.
Should he pick Steve Copper’s side, TMW state they plan to let the South American go out on loan to Olympiacos.
The two clubs are owned by Evangelos Marinakis and this would help Nottingham Forest to send Marquinhos to Greece, if they were to buy him.
