Following the news that Keylor Navas’ transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Nottingham Forest was difficult to pull off, the Premier League side haven’t gone far to look for an alternative.
This comes from Le Parisien in France, who state Steve Cooper’s side are ‘also thinking’ about Sergio Rico, who is currently the number three goalkeeper at the Ligue 1 side.
It’s pointed out that ‘in case of a failure in negotiations’ for the Costa Rica international, Nottingham Forest ‘aren’t excluding falling back’ on Rico to make sure they get a new goalkeeper to fill the gap left by Dean Henderson’s injury.
The French outlet recall that Rico has yet to feature for Paris Saint-Germain this season, and that the Tricky Trees did ‘show an interest parallel’ to the one they’ve already shown for Navas.
Whether this becomes something more serious will likely depend on what happens with Navas, although an earlier report from L’Equipe did suggest it wasn’t looking great for Nottingham Forest.
Therefore, Rico could become a bigger story in the coming hours.
