Murillo arrived at Nottingham Forest from Corinthians in August 2023 and it took him over a month to make his first appearance for the Premier League side.
Since then, the centre-back has been a regular for the Reds and his performances this season saw him receive a call up from Brazil in November. He was an unused substitute in both games that month.
Seleção manager Dorival Júnior included the Nottingham Forest player in the squad for March’s international break. He was on the bench in Brazil’s 2-1 win over Colombia last week and made his debut for the national team against Argentina on Tuesday [local time].
The 22-year-old’s debut ended in huge disappointment as Brazil suffered a 4-1 defeat to Argentina in the World Cup qualifiers. Flamengo’s Léo Ortiz replaced him after the break.
Globo Esporte claim Murillo was ‘very bad’ against the world champions and involved in three goals that Brazil conceded in the first half. They gave him 3/10.
The website also let fans provide their rating and at the time of publishing, the Brazilian supporters rated his performance 0.7/10.
Argentine newspaper Ole gave him 2/10, the worst alongside Raphinha.
Murillo can put this poor performance behind him when he returns to Nottingham Forest.
