Leaving Manchester United for Nottingham Forest this summer in a transfer worth €17.5m, Anthony Elanga has now become a crucial member of Steve Cooper’s side.
This was once again on display this weekend as he scored in the 3-2 defeat to West Ham, before getting ready to set off to represent Sweden during the international break.
However, an injury has scuppered that last part, as manager Janne Andersson announced to the media on Monday that the Nottingham Forest winger has had to pull out of the squad, relayed by Fotbollskanalen.
He isn’t the only one that suffered from the weekend action, as both Emil Holm and Ludwig Augustinsson also picked up knocks when playing for Atalanta and Anderlecht respectively.
However, unlike the Nottingham Forest player, they will get a chance to play against Estonia, even if they do miss the first game when Sweden face Azerbaijan.
So far this season, Elanga has two goals and an assist in 12 Premier League games for the Tricky Trees, with the club now likely to try and nurse him back to health of the coming two weeks to be ready to face Brighton on November 25th.
