Bologna’s Santiago Castro has impressed over the past two years. The striker is now attracting interest from Nottingham Forest.

Tuttomercatoweb report Inter Milan tried to sign the Argentine in the summer. A move never materialised as Bologna demanded between €40m and €50m to consider the player’s sale.

So far this season in Serie A, Castro has scored four goals. The 21-year-old started in a draw against Lazio on Sunday.

The outlet claim that an emissary from Nottingham Forest was in the stands to keep a close eye on Castro.

Several clubs have been watching the striker. But the Tricky Trees have a good relationship with Bologna, having signed Dan Ndoye some months ago.

There’s a belief the Rossoblu are facing problems with liquidity, so this can force them into a major sale. Given the Italian perception of Premier League money, there’s also a belief Nottingham Forest could offer good money.

Vincenzo Italiano’s side are looking to qualify for Europe once again and are unlikely to sell the striker in January.

There have been suggestions that Castro could be in line for a new contract at Bologna, but interest from multiple clubs would have an impact on his future.
