Nottingham Forest ‘seem to want to pay’ €35m+ to sign midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré from PSV Eindhoven this summer, but still need to convince the player.

That’s according to ESPN journalist Milan van Dongen, who has been speaking to PSV Fans regarding the midfielder.

Sangaré has long been linked with a move away from PSV, having been a key player for the club over the last few years.

He has numerous suitors in the Premier League and Nottingham Forest are the latest to make an effort for him, with it claimed earlier this month that they had made a bid.

It has since been explained that they need to put on the charm offensive to try and get the player, with contacts still underway to try and get a deal over the line.

Van Dongen backs that up today in his comments on the matter, stating he believes that Forest are willing to pay what is required but it is the player’s will which is proving problematic.

“It is indeed reasonably quiet,” he said regarding the transfer situation at PSV.

“There will not be a cartload of players from Eindhoven, but the most likely is of course Ibrahim Sangaré. If €37.5 million is offered, PSV actually has nothing to say.

“Nottingham Forest seems to want to pay that amount, but Sangaré must also want to. Moreover, that amount has not yet been deposited.”

It’s worth noting that both clubs are set to face each other in a friendly on Sunday, and will therefore get the perfect chance to sit down and discuss a potential deal for the midfielder in the next few days.
