Nicolás Domínguez has blamed ‘many changes’ at the City Ground for Nottingham Forest’s struggles this season.

The Argentine has been speaking to DSports on a few topics including the Reds’ season so far.

Nottingham Forest finished seventh last season and qualified for the Europa League under Nuno Espírito Santo’s orders.

The Premier League side parted ways with Nuno in September and immediately appointed Ange Postecoglou.Their results didn’t improve under the former Tottenham Hotspur boss.

Nottingham Forest sacked Postecoglou after failing to register a win under his orders, subsequently Sean Dyche replaced him in October.

Dyche’s side are now 17th in the table, five points above 18th placed West Ham United.

DSports asked the 27-year-old why his side are in a relegation battle. Responding to that, he said: “There have been many changes from season to season, three changes have taken place, and a number of factors have contributed to us fighting at the bottom of the table.

“We’re not where we were last year either, but we’re gradually improving. That’s how the Premier League is, very competitive, with strong and difficult teams.”

Nottingham Forest player plans Argentine future

On December 30th, we covered claims from Brazil that Palmeiras have made contact to sign him. There’s no mention of the Brazilian club in the latest interview.

The South American moved to Europe for the first time when Bologna signed him from Vélez Sarsfield in 2019.When asked the possibility of returning to Argentine, he expressed his desire to return to his old club.

“River [Plate] never called me. That possibility never existed,” Domínguez explained.

“As for Rosario Central, the person who would be happiest if I played there would be my dad. But it’s difficult because my whole family is in Buenos Aires. I’ll surely return to Vélez at some point; it’s my second home, the club that shaped me.”

Before then, he needs to help save Nottingham Forest.
