Following reports that Standard Liège were thinking about a move for Jonathan Panzo, contracted to Nottingham Forest, the move is well and truly on.

The news comes from Sacha Tavolieri, who took to X, formerly Twitter, to bring the latest on the English centre-back’s future, as he heads towards an exit from City Ground.

The journalist explains the Nottingham Forest defender has ‘passed his medical’ ahead of his move to Standard, which was taking place on Monday.

The expectation is that he will now become the second signing of the Belgian side during this January transfer window, with the move set to be confirmed in the ‘next 24 hours’.

The 23-year-old had spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Cardiff City, but had only made four appearances in the league, which led to Nottingham Forest recalling him.

They have now sorted a deal with Standard to send him out on loan to Belgium, where the Jupiler Pro League club will be able to buy him permanently if he impresses as there will be a purchase option in the deal.
