French outlet Foot Mercato today bring some news on the future of Keylor Navas.
Loaned by Paris Saint Germain to Nottingham Forest back in January, the goalkeeper made 17 appearances for the English club, with 32 goals conceded and two clean sheets.
The loan didn’t include a buying option, though, and with uncertainty on Navas’ future, Foot Mercato says his wish is to stay in England. But not necessarily at Nottingham Forest.
It’s explained that the Reds only pay half of his salary, and the entire amount would be ‘impossible’ to afford. Especially because they can just buy Dean Henderson from Manchester United.
With Navas also having other ‘sporting ambitions’, it’s said that his stay at Nottingham Forest is ‘slim or even unlikely’.
That’s why other clubs show up as potential destinations, with Foot Mercato naming Brentford, Chelsea, Leicester City and Tottenham as possibilities.
What sounds sure is that Navas is not returning to PSG. He couldn’t compete for a place with Gianluigi Donnarumma there, and they’re keen on negotiating his exit as long as there’s a transfer worth ‘a handful of million euros’. The problem is his salary, which is over €1m a month, and the year left on his contract with the French side.
