Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa may soon be on his way back to Brazil, according to local reports.

SBT journalist Alvaro Loureiro brings some ‘exclusive’ news about the 29-year-old’s future.

It’s claimed that Scarpa could return to Brazil in January 2024 and join his former club Palmeiras.

Even though Flamengo also showed interest in him, it’s said he’d prefer a return to his old side, especially because the Rio De Janeiro club are going through a hard time.

Scarpa has a contract with Nottingham Forest running until 2026, and is loaned to Olympiacos until next summer.

There had already been rumours saying Brazilian clubs wanted him this summer, but the player was said to be focused on staying in Europe as he continues trying to succeed.

Since his arrival at Olympiacos, he’s made five appearances, and is still fighting to have a place in the starting team.

He could probably live a more comfortable situation at Palmeiras, and that’s why he may now accept the move. Now we should see whether Nottingham Forest would accept a loan or just a permanent transfer.
