While there was a brief period when it appeared like Nottingham Forest would be signing Keylor Navas, that is no longer the case.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who state in their headline for the article that Steve Cooper’s side are ‘pessimistic’ about their chances of signing the Costa Rica international.
In fact, barring a new U-turn, the player should stay in Paris in what is being labeled a ‘very complicated financial’ deal.
It’s pointed out that Navas was himself ‘in agreement’ with Nottingham Forest over the move, but the 36-year-old ‘hasn’t been able to find a common ground’ with his current club regarding ‘the financial part’ of his exit.
That’s why we’ve seen Nottingham Forest turn their attention to other goalkeepers, as they try and fill the gap in the squad caused by Dean Henderson’s injury.
Navas, a long-time starter for Paris Saint-Germain, had seen his game time reduced at the club following the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma, who was made the undisputed starter (except in the cup) after Christophe Galtier was appointed as manager.
Over the years, he has made 108 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, as well as represented his country an astounding 110 times.
