On December 20th, Nottingham Forest appointed Nuno Espírito Santo as their new manager, a day after parting ways with Steve Cooper.

At the weekend, Marca stated the manager is looking for new signings in January and this has seen them identify Cádiz CF’s Iván Alejo as one of their targets.

Nottingham Forest’s interest in the winger is backed up Mundo Deportivo, who then share the latest on this case.

It’s said Nuno Espírito Santo and his side have ‘set the goal of signing’ the 28-year-old in the winter market, to help them in their fight to avoid relegation. Nottingham Forest are currently 17th in the table, two points above the danger zone.

The Spaniard’s deal lasts until 2025 and as things stand, Mundo have no information on the fee the Premier League side could offer to secure his services next month.

Cádiz, for now, are not in favour of sanctioning a move for Alejo. However, the report says that if a ‘good offer’ were to arrive, it will ‘undoubtedly’ be studied by the La Liga side. Mundo don’t specify what is viewed as a ‘good offer’.

Alejo has failed to score a goal and managed two assists from 17 games this season.
