When Santos turned down Nottingham Forest’s attempt to sign Angelo at the end of the January transfer window, it seemed like the Peixe would be able to breathe for a few months until a European club came for the starlet once again.
But that didn’t happen, as the Brazilian media soon reported Flamengo’s interest in the player, with the Rio de Janeiro side theoretically coming strong for the signing.
It turns out, however, that Nottingham Forest should not be very worried about that situation. That’s reported by UOL.
It’s recalled that Santos indeed turned down the payment conditions offered by the Reds in their €19m bid.
But despite accepting to talk to Flamengo, they received an offer of only €8m, and were very convinced of turning that down, despite the promise of money coming in immediately.
According to UOL, Angelo used his staff to tell Santos that he wants to stay there at least until the transfer window in the middle of the year. That will mean a chance for every European side who’ve been interested in signing him, including Nottingham Forest.
