At the weekend, a surprise claim from Argentine surfaced stating Manchester United have set their sights on Boca Juniors’ Aaron Anselmino.
This information was provided by journalist Julio Pavoni, relayed by Planeta Boca Juniors, and said the Red Devils had sent a scout to Argentina to closely watch the 18-year-old.
Pavoni had also reported Manchester United want to buy the centre-back and send him out on loan to continue his development.
Olé also explain that Erik ten Hag’s side have the defender on their radar but a potential deal is unlikely to take shape in the next window. That’s because the defender has said that he wants to continue at the Argentine club.
“My head is here at Boca. I want to win titles here and win titles with this shirt. Nothing has come from outside,” he said.
Olé have relayed his comments and add that the youngster has ‘dismissed’ reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.
Boca Juniors, for their part, have already taken precautions by extending the player’s deal. The report adds it has a $20m [€18.5m] release clause.
Anselmino was promoted to the Argentine club’s first team in 2023 and he’s played seven games for them. It’s unlikely that Manchester United will spend €18.5m on a player who has played only a handful of matches so far.
