The links between Corinthians and Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani showed up again this week, with reports on Twitter claiming there are official talks going on.
It was said the Timão believed that their place in Copa Libertadores, along with the presence of Portuguese manager Vitor Pereira, could help them to convince the striker of signing. Even salary details were reported.
So journalist Jorge Nicola went after more information on this story, and on Youtube, he shares the updates he received.
In contact with a member of Corinthians’ board, the reporter was told: “It’s not true. There’s nothing about Cavani”.
Nicola adds that ‘everything indicates’ that the Manchester United striker will end up agreeing a deal with a La Liga side, with Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad currently the favourites to land him this summer.
Speaking to the Brazilian media, Cavani recently claimed that in case there are talks with the Red Devils to extend his contract, which expires in the summer, then the Old Trafford side would have his priority.
