Paraguayan outlet Versus have hosted a live broadcast featuring journalist Christian Martín, who joined the programme from New York to discuss the future of Julio Enciso. And his message to Brighton fans was clear: the 20-year-old forward is on his way out.

According to Martín, Enciso “will not return to Brighton”, and there’s already movement from clubs in Italy, Spain, England and Turkey.

“Options won’t be lacking,” he said, suggesting the player’s name remains hot in the European market despite a long-term injury.

The list of interested clubs is far from modest. Juventus, Milan, Inter, Atlético de Madrid, Real Sociedad, Sevilla and Manchester United have all been mentioned, along with unnamed Turkish sides also keeping tabs.

Enciso joined Brighton from Club Libertad in 2022 and is under contract until 2026. He made just 12 appearances last season after spending nearly a year out with a serious knee issue.

Still, Versus labelled him a “jewel”, and Martín hinted that his departure is more a matter of when than if.

What comes next is unclear, but with Brighton preparing for a new cycle under Fabian Hürzeler, it looks increasingly likely that Enciso will be continuing his development elsewhere.
