Even if Tottenham Hotspur and Sporting get to a deal for the transfer of Pedro Porro now, it seems unlikely that will be confirmed in the next couple of days.

That’s because the player is joining the Lions squad for the cup final against Porto on Saturday. That was confirmed by club manager Ruben Amorim in a press conference.

“Leaving, he does not leave before the game. I know that football has changed a bit lately. Clubs come first. The player is able to play. I realise that all this messes with players’ heads. If he wasn’t fit, another player would be,” said Ruben Amorim (via Notícias ao Minuto).

“This game cannot be resolved with just one player. We work as a team. Porro is one more. He will go to the training camp. Whatever has to happen, will happen. We are prepared for all scenarios. I don’t know if it’s the last game or not, until the 1st we will not know.”

Tottenham and Sporting continue the talks for Porro, and according to the latest updates, there’s been another meeting on Friday to discuss the transfer.

Reports from the Italian and Spanish media even claimed that the Lions are trying to make over €45m with the transfer, and that could be delaying the deal, since Spurs had made a huge effort to get to that number after days of talks.

The match against Porto is seen as a chance for Porro to leave Sporting with a title. The fullback has represented a lot for their fans in the past couple of years, so the fans have been asking for that since they got to know the move is imminent.
