Following the completion of his loan spell with Molde, Pawel Cibicki returned to his parent club Leeds United in January.

The 25-year-old didn’t find a place in Marcelo Bielsa’s plans for the second half of the season and in the winter market, the Whites allowed the forward to join Swedish club Elfsborg on another temporary deal until the end of the season.

Cibicki still has over two years left on his contract at Elland Road and remains hopeful of representing Leeds next season.

“I’m here until the summer, then I have two years left with Leeds. Obviously, I have thoughts of playing there [Leeds] and I am employed by them,” Cibicki told Expressen.

“I really hope they go all the way to the Premier League because it feels a bit like now or never.”

The Championship side are on the right path to achieve promotion to the Premier League as they’re currently second in the table with 76 points, two points ahead of third placed Sheffield United and five points behind leaders Norwich City.

As a part of the loan deal, Elfsborg have the option to make the Malmo-born player’s move permanent in the summer. Cibicki stressed every party involved must find an agreement for the transfer to take place.

“We’ll see how it goes. It’s not just me who decides, but there are three parties,” he added.
