On Wednesday, it was reported that Napoli are interested in signing Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne.

It was stated that while Liverpool also have an offer on the table for the Belgian, Napoli are ‘seriously trying’ to land the veteran midfielder in the summer.

Gazzetta dello Sport have today have taken a further look at the 33-year-old’s future and they state that there is a fair amount of buzz in Naples about the Partenopei landing the Manchester City hero.

Club CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis is no stranger to making audacious moves and the belief is that the playmaker will raise the level of their current squad under Antonio Conte. It can also help them become a candidate for next season’s Champions League title.

The report states that De Bruyne is ‘not the icing on cake, but a whole cake’ and Romelu Lukaku’s presence at Napoli could be a key factor in the move.

The midfielder is evaluating Napoli as a potential destination right now and is not too keen on leaving Europe for the Middle East. The Italian giants know that and this has prompted them to make an attempt already.

They are, as a result, dreaming about the move.
