Nottingham Forest fullback Nuno Tavares could move back to Marseille, according to claims from France.
As the Ligue 1 side have just sold Renan Lodi, Le10Sport features an article about the potential replacements they could sign in the middle of the season.
They bring some claims from Thibaud Vezirian, who, on Twitch, claimed there are talks with the Nottingham Forest player.
“According to the information I have from Nuno Tavares’ entourage, he was contacted by Olympique de Marseille. He gets on better with the new coach at Nottingham Forest, but he is not in an atmosphere that he particularly likes there.”
The pundit isn’t very in favour of Tavares’ arrival, though, as he didn’t have such a perfect spell at Marseille.
“Many people remember Nuno Tavares from the start of the season at OM, but we sometimes forget the less brilliant periods. I don’t think it’s a good sign that he’s going to sign, given the way things have been going at OM for weeks and months now.”
Tavares arrived in Marseille on a loan from Arsenal in the summer of 2022. There he made 39 appearances in one season, and didn’t make his signing permanent.
The Gunners then sent the fullback to Nottingham Forest, where he’s been of little use.
The 23-year-old only featured in the first three fixtures of the Premier League, and Nuno Espirito Santo then gave him a couple of chances in a couple of FA Cup clashes this year. We’ll see whether the manager will make an effort to hold him at the club.
