The Portuguese media today covers Norwich City and Watford interest in Sporting winger Rafael Camacho.
Following reports from the English press saying the Canaries and Hornets were keen on the player, newspaper Record shows up to back up the claims.
There’s even a chance Norwich and Watford could sign Camacho for free. That’s because the player knows he’s not in Sporting’s plans and currently negotiates the end of his contract, which expires in 2024.
There is, however an impasse in the talks between him and Sporting, as the club actually demand €7m to let him go this summer. So in their understanding, that would be the easiest path for the Canaries and Hornets.
It turns out that as newspaper A Bola also features a piece on Camacho, they mention Watford, saying they compete with the signing against Casa Pia and Chaves. Their story has no mention of Norwich City, though.
This story is actually more optimistic about the winger’s contract rescission, with them claiming that it will allow Sporting to save a lot of money from his salary. So it seems there’s a real chance the 23-year-old can be signed for free.
