Norwich City are in pole position to sign Jakov Medic from Ajax this summer, as the Dutch club reshape their squad.
That’s according to journalist Mike Verweij, who reports the 26-year-old could be heading to Norwich once he returns from VfL Bochum.
He’s spent this season on loan with the German side after it was made clear he was not a part of Ajax’s plans.
Medic joined the Dutch side in a €3m deal from FC St Pauli in August 2023 but has failed to establish himself in the Netherlands since then, with just nine appearances to his name. He made 23 appearances for Bochum on loan this season.
The deal with the German side includes an option for them to buy him from Ajax permanently but it appears that is not being taken up.
That’s at least if Verweij is to be believed, as he reports that Norwich City are in pole position for the centre-back. What the Canaries would be willing to pay for him isn’t clear.
Ajax would presumably like to make their money back at least.
